Forging Fair Battles: New Matchmaking Rules in OverKnights

Every Pilot knows: nothing feels worse than an unfair match. Whether it’s running into bot abusers, multi-accounts, or endless repeats against the same rival, it breaks the flow of the climb. That’s why the Libra Tower is evolving.

Based on community feedback and our own data, OverKnights is implementing a new matchmaking system designed to create fairer, more competitive, and more exciting battles.

Here’s everything you need to know.

The Problems We Had to Solve

We heard you loud and clear. Pilots reported issues such as:

  • Newcomers getting crushed by veterans.
  • Multi-account setups ruining the ladder.
  • Bots and auto-surrenders breaking immersion.
  • Top players struggling to find worthy duels.

And while some community suggestions were helpful, others just wouldn’t work for our ecosystem:

  • Limiting daily ranked matches – too punishing for a smaller player base.
  • Playing against bots – we want real competition, not filler.
  • Restricted hours – too limiting for a global audience.

So instead, we’ve designed a system that keeps the spirit of dueling alive while eliminating the worst offenders.

The New Matchmaking Rules

Tier-Based Battles

Players will now be split into three distinct tiers:

  • New Pilots: Fresh recruits learning the ropes.
  • Pilots: Experienced Pilots with a steady climb.
  • Legendary Pilots: The elite warriors at the peak of the Tower.

Tier Restrictions

  • You’ll be matched only within your tier for the first few minutes.
  • If no duel is found, the search expands to one tier above or below.

No More Farming the Same Player

  • You cannot face the same Pilot within a set number of games and minutes.
  • Exception: Top tier players can rematch more freely, since their pool is smaller.
  • For low tiers, this restriction loosens after a while so you’re not stuck waiting.

Extra Checks to Keep It Clean

To stop bots and intentional abuse, we’re introducing flagging systems:

  • Early surrenders and timeouts get flagged.
  • After 3 flags = A notification.
  • After 5 flags = (1) day ban.
  • After 7 flags = Permanent ban.

Fair play is the foundation of the OverKnights climb. If you cheat, you fall.

Why This Matters

This update isn’t just about fixing pain points, it’s about making every climb feel like a true test of skill. No more one-sided stomps, no more bots ruining the fun, and no more endless loops with the same opponent.

With these changes, every duel in the Libra Tower becomes a step closer to mastery.

Final Call: Sharpen Your Blades, Pilots

The Libra Tower has never been more balanced. Now it’s on you to prove your worth.

Matchmaking is fairer. The climb is cleaner. The challenge is sharper.

Suit up, start battling, and claim your place at the top of OverKnights.
