However it’s time to start looking to the future and I’m here today to talk to give you all a preview of what’s next for OverKnights: we’re going to talk Economy and Roadmap.”

Economy Preview: The Pillars of OverKnights Economy

The game is totally Free to Play, creating the lowest barrier of entry to allow everyone to come and enjoy the world of OverKnights. However we wanted to evolve the old F2P practices and models into something new and refreshing that creates value for everyone participating in the OverKnights Ecosystem.

The OverKnights economy is built fundamentally to be fun to participate in, avoid pay to win and to be long-term sustainable. For that we have focused on building pillars that use the $OVC token and the In-Game NFTs (Booster Packs, Cards, Parts, Cosmetics) in meaningful ways that help the OverKnights experience and also create the necessary incentives to boost the underlying token economy we’ve designed.




The Game will feature several ways to earn In-Game NFTs via it’s Core Progression Loop: the Climb of the Libra Tower, a competitive PvP Ranked System that will have you participating in Anima Duels with other gamers across the different floors of the tower.

One aspect that will be important is that these items will be time-limited editions, that will be obtainable during specific timeframes of the Game’s lifetime, so Gamers are incentivised to play through every content drop on OverKnights to complete their collections or buy their items off other Gamers on the In-Game Marketplace.

The Items that will be obtainable through gameplay will be:

  • Booster Packs: Contain Parts and Cards of various rarities.
  • OverKnight Parts: Allows gamers to create different Loadouts with different abilities and looks.
  • Cards: Cards to be included in OverKnight Loadouts to create new strategies and combos.
  • Cosmetics: Different looks to Anima Duel in style!



All premium content in-game will be available for purchase using our $OVC currency and it will be available for purchase in-game for convenience. OverKnights will collect a small fee from every purchase.

Items that will be available in the In-Game Shop will be:

  • Battle Passes: Limited time mission packs that will allow you to earn special content.
  • Reward Boosters: As you ascend through the Libra Tower every Victory will award additional benefits when you purchase one of these items.
  • Booster Packs: Unlock content early by purchasing booster packs directly from the shop, however there will be a cap to how many boosters you can purchase daily.
  • Consumables: Several consumables will be available on rotation to boost your in-game experience.
  • Cosmetics: Duel in style! Several premium cosmetics will be available to purchase using $OVC.



Gamers can opt-in to earn $OVC directly in-game by selling their Booster Packs, Parts, Cards and Cosmetics to other gamers on the In-Game Marketplace. This is a great place for Gamers to obtain out-of-rotation content and complete their collections.

  • Orderbook Driven Marketplace: Place your Sell Orders and earn $OVC when they fulfill.
  • All transactions in the marketplace will be denominated in $OVC.
  • OverKnights will collect a small fee on every transaction.



$OVC Token Buy-Back System: Long-Term Sustainability

To ensure long-term sustainability of the OverKnights economy, we have decided to implement a Buy-Back system for the $OVC token by using the In-Game generated revenue. This aligns incentives across the ecosystem as different actors interact with $OVC Token in their preferred way.



Gamers

Gamers want one thing since video games were invented and that is to have fun. Gamers will be able to play OverKnights with no barrier of entry, purchase $OVC directly in-game with very low friction at their own discretion similar to other F2P experiences, and spend that $OVC in the In-Game Cash Shop or buy items directly from other Gamers in the In-Game Marketplace. These behaviours create a natural demand for the $OVC token that’s transparent to the Gamer.



OverKnights

OverKnights interfaces with the other 2 actors in the Buy-Back System:

  • Gamers: By provisioning $OVC for Gamers, OverKnights collects USD (or equivalents), as well as receive $OVC from Gamers when they spend it in the In-Game Shop.
  • Liquidity Providers: OverKnights will periodically purchase $OVC from Liquidity Providers in the Open Market via different platforms in the Immutable Ecosystem, connecting the Demand generated by Gamers, with the Supply offered by Liquidity Providers willing to use their $OVC to support the OverKnights ecosystem.


Liquidity Providers

Liquidity Providers put up their $OVC in service of the OverKnights Ecosystem via different open market platforms to meet the Demand generated by Gamers. This allows the economic cycle to form and creates a virtuous flywheel effect that keeps Gamers playing the Game and the economy sustainable over the long term. Liquidity Providers will be also rewarded In-Game for their contributions to the Ecosystem with different Social and Status rewards.




Roadmap Preview: Play-To-Airdrop Phase

Our Play-To-Airdrop Phase will be 3 Seasons of non-stop action to take the competition to the next level!

There will be different ways to play and obtain $OVC airdrops, as well as participate for other Prize Pools as well.



Next Level Competition: $OVC Airdrops Questing and Leaderboards with USDC Prize Pools

Every season will feature 2 different gameplay modes:

  • Prize Pool Leaderboards: Top Gamers will be rewarded with USDC from a collective Prize Pool for their efforts in participating in the highest levels of competition in OverKnights during the Season.
  • Questing: Every Gamer will be able to earn $OVC airdrops at their own pace by completing Quests that will be available to everyone participating in the season.



VIP Passes: Boost your Play-To-Airdrop Experience

Gamers will be able to boost their Play-To-Airdrop experience with VIP Passes, items that they will be able to purchase in order to create reward multipliers for the Prize Pool Leaderboards and Quests and maximize their rewards.




Genesis Pilots Bonuses: Unique Rewards for the First to Climb the Tower

Genesis Pilot NFT Holders will gain access to unique perks, that no one else playing the Season will have access to:

  • Special Airdrop Quests
  • Maximum Reward Boosts
  • And many more!
